Key Terms

Key terms:

Connotation:
An Idea that can be suggested through images, colour, words and sounds.

Denotation:
What you know is definitely there.

Demographic:
A particular group of people.

Iconography:
Visual images and symbols with meaning.

Branding:
When a lot of things are given the same label.

Ideal self:
To become the best possible version of what you want to be.

Intertextuality:
The relationship between texts, especially literature, the way they reflect each other.

Pastiche:
To copy/imitate a certain style of work or art.

Endorsement:
The act of approval of something or someone.

Call to action:
The direct instruction or call to an audience in order to provoke a response (like call now, or go to stores now!).
